Baptism at The Grainery

Take the Next Step in Your Faith Journey

Baptism is a powerful declaration of your decision to follow Jesus. It’s a celebration of new life, and a symbol of grace and transformation. Whether you’re new to faith or have been walking with Jesus for years, baptism is a beautiful step of obedience, and a public declaration of your commitment to Christ.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change.

It represents:
– a ‘reset’ – “the old me is gone, and I’m starting a fresh new life with Jesus”
forgiveness and grace
– a public ‘Declaration of Faith’

We believe baptism is a celebration – shared with your church family, close family, and friends – as you step boldly into your identity in Christ.

What is a Baby Dedication?

We believe that baptism is a sacred step of obedience and faith.

It should take place when a person is ready to make a personal decision to follow Jesus Christ – choosing to commit their life to God and publicly declare that commitment. Baptism is not simply a ritual, but a meaningful response to God’s grace, reflecting an individual’s own journey and relationship with Him.

Therefore, at The Grainery, we offer baby dedication to the Lord, rather than infant baptism. At a baby dedication, the parents and the chosen prayer guardians make a public declaration to raise their child in accordance with God’s word, to support their spiritual growth and guide them in the fulfilment of God’s purpose for their life, and to uplift them in prayer.

If you are interested in dedicating your baby or child to the Lord, please contact our church office at hello@grainery.org.au.
