What is Alpha?

Alpha is a relaxed and engaging space where you can explore life, faith, and meaning. Each week we gather to enjoy:
– Good food
– A short film
– Great conversation

Together, we unpack some of life’s big questions like:
– What’s the meaning of life?
– What happens when we die?

After each talk, we break into small groups to connect, share perspectives, and ask questions in a friendly, judgment-free environment.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for everyone — no matter where you are on your faith journey. Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years or you’re just curious about life and faith, you’re invited.

Each session is designed to spark conversation and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a relaxed, open, and friendly setting. No question is off-limits, and you’re free to share as much or as little as you like.

Alpha is a FREE course, so come and join us!

When is the next course starting?

The Grainery Church – Cessnock will be running the next Alpha course on Wednesday evenings for 8 weeks, starting with a launch party on 4 February 2026. The launch party for Alpha is an invitation to come and check Alpha out, meet others, and get an idea of what it’s all about – with no obligations or commitment!
